Fastener World’s Exhibition Footprints in 2025
SteelFab
01/12-16/2025
The scale of the metal processing industry and the demand for peripheral products in the Middle East have been growing continuously in recent years, and their technological strength and quality have been slowly attracting the attention of international customers. With the 4-day SteelFab 2025 held in Expo Centre Sharjah from January 12 to 16, many exhibitors and professional buyers on-site felt the lively atmosphere of exchange, and could also perceive potential business opportunities arising from the demand for automated processing machines in the Middle East (especially in UAE), where officials and local companies are investing hundreds of millions of dollars in emerging technologies such as robotics and automation in order to enhance productivity and efficiency.
AI Automation, the Future of Metal Processing
SteelFab, which has been held for 19 years, is a professional exhibition targeting various industrial manufacturing industries in the UAE and the entire Middle East region. In particular, welding & cutting, power tools, machine tools, tubes & pipes processing machines, as well as stainless steel, AI, and robotics are the key highlights of the exhibition in 2025. It is also one of the main platforms to help relevant industries in the region expand their digital capabilities and gain an edge in a hypercompetitive market. Fastener World Inc. exhibited at the exhibition again in 2025, hoping to deepen our observation and understanding of the Middle East market, and more importantly, to find more opportunities to enter the local market and gain supply chain cooperation for high-quality suppliers wishing to further expand into the Middle East and the surrounding emerging markets in order to diversify geographic risks.
High Share of Automated Machinery Exhibitors
According to the on-site observation of Fastener World's staff, 80-90% of the exhibitors in 2025 were related to the fields of automation machinery and peripheral equipment, and there were a few exhibitors of power tools, non-fastener related dies & molds, powder coating and laser equipment. However, the share of fasteners or hardware products related exhibitors was not high. The exhibitors were mainly from the Middle East, with international pavilions from China, India, Germany and Taiwan. Compared to 2024, the number of exhibitors from China and India was on a decline. Taiwanese exhibitors were mostly in the automation machinery sector.
Benefiting from the geographical advantage, the visitors to Fastener World’s stand in 2025 were mostly professional buyers and traders from Dubai, mostly inquiring about sourcing automated machinery and specifically looking for Taiwanese suppliers. There were also traders looking for thread rolling machines and heading machines. One buyer told Fastener World’s staff that he had purchased machinery and equipment from other countries, but felt disappointed with their quality. He also heard that the quality of Taiwanese machinery and equipment is good, and would be interested in giving it a try if there is any suitable manufacturer.
It is understood that UAE officials have been promoting a number of policies and programs in recent years that seek to promote industrial innovation and R&D, and enhance local supply chains, including the UAEprogramme, covering 1,000 programs in the fields of technology and industry.
According to Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA), Taiwan's total machine tool export in 2024 amounted to US$2.218 billion, and the total critical components export amounted to US$1.511 billion, with the top 5 major export destinations being China, USA, Turkey, India, and Vietnam, indicating that there is still room for effort in the Middle East market. The main export top 5 are China, the US, Turkey, India and Vietnam, showing that there is still room for manufacturers to work hard in this market. Vendors interested in the Middle East metal processing market are advised to enter these advanced and high-end automated equipment and peripheral parts markets as well, to further strengthen the cooperation opportunities with large-scale projects and local supply chain partners in the Middle East countries.
Fastener Fair Global
03/25-27/2025
Supply Chain Restructuring Brings New Opportunities; European Buyers Flock to Germany

A well-known market survey company reports that the European industrial fasteners industry achieved revenues of USD 22.959 billion in 2024. From 2025 to 2030, the industry is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 3.3%. Despite significant economic challenges in Europe’s market climate over the past few years, demand for fasteners remains strong. As a bellwether for the European fastener industry, Fastener Fair Global was embracing its tenth edition in 2025. The show spanned halls 1, 3, 5, and 7, covering 52,000 square meters of exhibition space, showcasing over 1,000 exhibitors from more than 40 countries. The event also featured an innovation display area showcasing many creative new products for the year.
According to the organizer’s press release, the majority of exhibitors came from major fastener-manufacturing countries, with high participation from Germany, Italy, Taiwan, China, India, Turkey, the Netherlands, the UK, Spain, and France. Fastener World (the Taiwan sales representative for Fastener Fair Global) led over 160 Taiwanese exhibitors there to participate, forming a highlight at the event. Additionally, exhibitors from other Asian countries like India, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Japan booked large booths to showcase products, aiming to secure more partnerships and competitive advantages in a challenging market environment.
Fastener World sent many exhibition specialists to our two booths in halls 5 and 7 (5-2621 and 7-4260). Besides matching visitors with fastener suppliers from various countries, we interacted with other exhibitors to gather the latest market intelligence from European suppliers. According to the post-show statistics of the organizer, the Fair attracted 11,000 trade visitors from 84 nations in 2025. Our specialists revealed that from the first day of the show, there had been a surge of visitors, mostly European fastener-related distributors, suppliers, manufacturers and importers. 61% of the visitors came from the outside of Germany, including Italy, the UK, Taiwan, Poland, China, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and Turkey, most of whom were from the industries such as automotive, distribution, construction and civil engineering, metal products, aerospace, mechanical and precision engineering, hardware and DIY, electronics and electrical goods, energy and power generation, etc. We had many visitors flocking at our booths, including fastener manufacturers, buyers and distributors who mentioned that the global fastener supply chain was undergoing a "restructuring" in 2025, and that many importers were seeking to establish additional sources beyond their current suppliers and were building more robust and intimate supplier partnerships to face future challenges such as tariffs, carbon reduction targets, as well as potential economic and supply chain risks. This indicates that the demand for fasteners in Europe is not fading and the supply mechanism between Europe and various countries will likely be further strengthened due to current international political and economic situations. In summary, the era of supply chain restructuring is driving a new wave of business opportunities. Therefore, some of those who have received Fastener World magazines before came to our booth for the latest issue. We even met buyers from as far away as Northern Europe and Belarus who hoped to find more fastener sources through our magazines.
The organizer has announced that the next Fastener Fair Global will be held on April 6-8, 2027 at Messe Stuttgart. For more information, check out Fastener World’s website at www.fastener-world.com

The Rise of “Make in India”: Fastener Fair India Highlights New Opportunities

Driven by the Indian government’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) policies, local manufacturing was undergoing significant upgrades and expansion. Infrastructure investments such as smart cities and road and bridge construction boosted demand for fasteners in India’s construction industry. Against this backdrop, Fastener Fair India took place from May 8 to 10 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. The event gathered fastener and machinery exhibitors from India and abroad, featuring a new “India Hardware” Zone showcasing the flourishing tools and related machinery sectors under the national “Make in India” initiative.
The exhibitor of Fastener World observed strong crowds on the first day, with many busy booths including those of Homn Reen Enterprise, Chum Yuan Co., Ltd., Hurmg Yieh Machinery Industrial, and Infinix Precision, exhibiting through Fastener World. Most exhibitors were from India, presenting a diverse range of products. “It appears that the Indian fastener companies are gradually catching up with Taiwan’s pace and are also sourcing machinery from Taiwan, including both new and second-hand equipment,” noted the Fastener World staff on-site. Despite heightened tensions between India and Pakistan during the show period, the atmosphere in Mumbai remained normal and business proceeded smoothly.
Many machinery vendors were present at the expo, the Fastener World staff on-site observed. The majority of exhibitors were importers (buying products into India), distributors, brand agents, as well as dies and wire manufacturers. Most buyers were Indian, seeking a wide variety of fasteners for furniture, construction, and automotive applications, generally favoring standard products over customized ones. Some buyers indicated that Indian manufacturers cannot supply certain product categories or raw materials, prompting them to source from China or Taiwan. Fastener World provided on-site matchmaking services to assist these buyers in connecting with suppliers.
The organizer has announced that the next edition of Fastener Fair India will be held at India Expo Mart (IEML), Greater Noida, Delhi NCR on July 24-26, 2026. For the latest updates, please follow Fastener World’s official website at https://www.fastener-world.com/

Connecting Supply Chain Opportunities for Automotive Components

From May 21st to 23rd, 2025, the 7th annual INAFASTENER was held at JIExpo Kemayoran Jakarta, Indonesia. With the support of many local industry associations, INAFASTENER 2025 attracted around 150 exhibitors from 15 countries (using approximately 8,000 square meters of exhibition space) and more than 15,000 professional visitors.
According to a market survey, Indonesia's growing number of motorbikes and automobiles is correlated with the continued growth in demand for automotive fasteners, which are important components used to fasten automotive parts to ensure safe driving. Demand for fasteners continues to rise as the Indonesian automotive industry continues to grow. According to experts' estimation, the revenue of Indonesia's automotive aftermarket will reach US$17.68 billion by 2028. This exhibition was also co-located with other automotive related exhibitions such as INAPA and EV & Charging, and was one of the most important platforms for observing the dynamics and development trends of the automotive related components industry in Indonesia.

IFS China
05/22-24/2025
Finished Products and Machinery Factories Focus on “Domestic Sales” and “Russian Reconstruction” Business Opportunities

On May 22-24, roughly one thousand Chinese and a few overseas fastener-related exhibitors gathered at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC) to participate in the annual IFS China. In 2025, two halls were open (one for raw materials, equipment, molds/dies, and consumables, and the other for finished fasteners) with the total exhibition area of about 40,000 square meters.
The exhibitors in 2025 were mainly Chinese companies focusing on domestic sales, but there were also a few European and U.S. machinery-related companies (e.g. SACMA and National Machinery) wishing to expand their domestic sales in China. In addition, about 10 well-known Taiwanese machinery & equipment brands, such as Chun Zu, Jiancai, Tong Ming, and Jern Yao, as well as some punch/die/wire suppliers also participated in the show in 2025 to enhance their exposure.
According to the observation of Fastener World’s staff on-site, the visitors in 2025, facing the influence of new regulations and tariff barriers from the EU and the U.S., were mainly buyers from China, India and Russia (not many from the EU and the U.S.), and most of them were buyers focusing on domestic sales in China. Visitors came mainly on the first day of the three-day exhibition, and the second day's crowd was less because of heavy rain.
Some local manufacturers revealed to Fastener World’s staff on-site that the turmoil in the global market over the past few months caused a great impact on the export performance of Chinese suppliers, so many of them turned to strengthen domestic sales and shifted to India, Brazil, Central & South America, and other emerging markets to cope with it. One Chinese manufacturer mentioned that as Russia recently put out a lot of post-war reconstruction programs ushering in increased demand for fasteners, many Chinese companies received a lot of inquiries and orders from Russian buyers, many of which could not even be handled by a single manufacturer and had to be divided into separate orders to be processed by 2-3 downstream factories in order to ensure punctual delivery. While the EU and the U.S. continue to exert economic pressure on China at the time, such orders do bring a ray of hope to Chinese manufacturers having encountered significantly decreased orders from Europe and the U.S. and ease the cost pressure on their operation. In addition, a number of industry experts were invited to hold trend seminars and industry summits focusing on CBAM and U.S. tariffs. They mentioned that although CBAM and U.S. tariffs had increased the short-term pressure on Chinese enterprises, the layout of export sales should be continuously strengthened in order to mitigate the involution of the Chinese market.
As there was another international fastener expo in Shanghai in June 2025, some exhibitors said that, considering the scale of both big shows, they would still actively participate in one of these industry events or both on the premise of expanding market opportunities. However, they suggested that with the dates of both shows being so close to each other, it might be better to combine them into one bigger show, thereby attracting more visiting overseas buyers and expanding the benefits of participation.
The organizer has announced that the next show will be held on May 20-22, 2026 at SWEECC.
Fastener Fair USA
05/28-29/2025
More Inquiries for Building Products

The annual Fastener Fair USA was held on May 28-29 in Hall C of the Music City Center in Nashville, the 4th largest city in the Southeastern United States. It was one of the international professional trade fairs in North America dedicated to creating networking and collaboration opportunities among manufacturers, distributors, equipment suppliers, processors, and end-users in the fastener manufacturing supply chain.
In 2025, there were 206 exhibitors, mainly from the fields of construction, automotive, aerospace, furniture, electronics, heavy machinery, home appliances, marine, railway, medical, military, energy, etc. The exhibits included a wide range of industrial fasteners, construction fasteners, assembly and installation systems, and fastener manufacturing technologies. Fastener World also joined many Taiwanese exhibitors to interact with local buyers from the U.S. market this time.
According to Fastener World's staff’s observation on-site, there were several visitors coming to Taiwan Pavilion on the first day of the show, and some exhibitors who also exhibited in 2024 even said that the number of visitors was higher than 2024’s record, which might perhaps be attributed to various new tariff policies in the U.S. announced in 2025, exchange rate fluctuations, freight cost hike, and rising raw material costs and other uncertainties, forcing more local buyers to visit the show to look for more alternative new opportunities. Some visitors also expressed high interest in sourcing from Southeast Asian and Taiwanese suppliers. Many of the visitors visiting Fastener World’s stand showed high interest in purchasing construction-related products.
Although this show attracted many local U.S.-based exhibitors focusing on regional businesses to participate, it also attracted a number of international exhibitors from outside the U.S. looking for local importers and distributors to expand their collaboration. Some Chinese exhibitors noted that their U.S. customers still needed to rely on Chinese suppliers for specific items not adequately supplied by the local market. On the other hand, Taiwanese suppliers also had fewer competitors in the U.S. market for certain higher value-added items, which were also attractive to local U.S. buyers, but they still needed to pay attention to the possible impact of fluctuations in the exchange rate of NTD on their export competitiveness.
The organizer has announced that the next edition will be held on May 5-6, 2026 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, the 2nd largest city in the Southeastern United States. As the city is known for its major furniture manufacturing hub, it may also attract more buyers of furniture fasteners when FF USA is open in 2026.
Fastener Expo Shanghai
06/17-19/2025
Domestic Sales Still Focus on Price Cutting, While Exports Turn to Emerging Markets

Less than a month after IFS China ended at the end of May 2025, the 15th Fastener Expo Shanghai was successfully held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from June 17 to 19.
Called the “Global Innovation Platform for the High-end Fastener Industry”, Fastener Expo Shanghai is often regarded as one of the barometers for observing Chinese fastener industry. In 2025, Halls 1.1, 2.1, and 3 were opened, attracting more than 1,200 local and overseas exhibitors to display a wide range of standard/non-standard fasteners, automotive connectors, riveting products & technologies, metal formed parts, made of carbon steel, stainless steel, and special alloys, as well as cold heading equipment, heat treatment equipment, surface treatment, molds & dies, inspection equipment & lab instruments, etc on the 70,000 sq. m. of exhibition space. A few Taiwanese machinery and equipment companies also attended the exhibition in the hope of increasing orders from local fastener manufacturers in China.
The visitors in 2025 were mainly from domestic China and not many from overseas. According to Fastener World's on-site staffs, there were overseas buyers from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Malaysia and Peru coming to Fastener World's booths, and Japanese visitors were also seen sometimes, probably due to the dates of two similar shows (one in May and the other in June) being too close to each other.
During the exhibition, many exhibitors and visitors also seized the time to exchange views on the recent US tariffs, EU anti-dumping, currency exchange rates, market challenges, business opportunities in emerging markets and other issues. Some Chinese exhibitors told Fastener World’s staffs that many Chinese enterprises were facing tough challenges in their business operations due to the anti-dumping duty from the EU, which is over 90%, and the uncertainty of U.S. tariffs, as well as the lack of subsidies from the Chinese government. However, some exhibitors said that many Chinese companies already turned to non-European and non-U.S. markets, and were doing well in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. In terms of domestic sales, some exhibitors said that the market was still in the doldrums, and the strategy of price cutting in China was still a difficult problem for many companies to deal with.
The organizer held more than 10 industry forums, the fastener gala night and the B2B matchmaking event during the exhibition. The next Fastener Expo Shanghai will be held on June 24-26, 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), which will continue to provide an important business platform to promote view exchange, industrial learning, and business opportunities matchmaking.
Manufacturing Expo

Surging Crowds! Direct Buyers Urgently Need Local Supply in Thailand

The show held from June 18 to 21 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) saw visitor numbers fill up within just half an hour of opening each day, clearly surpassing the attendance of the previous edition. The event in 2025 featured several notable new characteristics compared to the event in 2024:
Greater Diversity in Country Pavilions
In addition to the China and Taiwan pavilions, the show in 2025 included pavilions from Singapore and South Korea, along with a dedicated section for industrial tools and tooling. A highlight was the Taiwan Excellence Award pavilion, which not only promoted award-winning Taiwanese companies but also hosted keynote presentations on Taiwan’s manufacturing technologies.
Increase in Japanese Exhibitors
Japanese companies have increased their investments in Thailand over recent years. Many Japanese exhibitors seen at the show either have local factories or joint ventures with Thai firms. They employ local Thai staff to provide on-site supply services. Most of these Japanese companies are from machinery and materials sectors outside the fastener industry.
Explosive Growth of Chinese Exhibitors
Unlike other country pavilions, there was not just one China pavilion but multiple scattered throughout the venue, and by including numerous smaller Chinese booths, exhibitors with Chinese backgrounds accounted for over 50% of the total exhibitors. Fastener World talked with a Chinese exhibitor who even estimated this share to exceed 70%. This exhibitor explained that intense involution in China suppressed domestic sales, prompting many to target Thailand for export growth. To him, the surge in Chinese presence in this show came as no surprise.
Visitors Were Mostly “Direct Buyers”
The majority of buyers came from four key industries: electronics, assembly, automotive, and machinery. These sectors require fasteners in smaller quantities for assembly, so their purchase requirements share common traits: support for small-quantity supply, local manufacturing presence in Thailand, and the ability to provide customized products. This trend reflects that fastener companies able to supply locally in Thailand are the most competitive in entering the Thai market.
Outlook for Fastener Demand in Thailand Remains Positive
Many visitors to the Fastener World booth expressed difficulty finding local fastener suppliers despite strong demand. Fastener World offered them matchmaking with global suppliers and promoted fasteners, dies, tooling, and machinery through company reports and catalogs listed in Fastener World publications. Understanding the characteristics of these buyers offers interested suppliers a valuable opportunity to capture business in this Southeast Asian industrial hub.

Fastener and Fixing Vietnam
08/06-08/2025

Fastener and Fixing Vietnam is Vietnam’s leading event in the fastener industry. In 2025, it was held concurrently with the Vietnam Manufacturing Expo (VME) from August 6 to 8, gathering exhibitors and professionals from diverse fields including assembly and installation systems, construction/industrial fasteners, and machinery. The exhibition provides participating companies with a gateway into one of Southeast Asia’s most important manufacturing hubs.
Although most exhibitors were domestic Vietnamese companies, the exhibitors also included A-Stainless International and Tainan Chin Chang Electrical from Taiwan. Besides local Vietnamese visitors, we also observed Bossard and Würth at the event. As these two German firms have local branches in Vietnam, they sent personnel from their Vietnamese offices to visit the show. Fastener World leveraged the opportunity of this show to promote magazines and introduce high-quality fastener companies to the Vietnamese market.
Overall, Vietnam’s economic growth has slightly slowed in recent years due to tariff impacts. However, the local government remains actively committed to infrastructure and technological development, showing strong determination for expansion. At this exhibition, we noticed that Chinese exhibitors had a competitive advantage in pricing, while Taiwanese companies advancing into the Vietnamese market held stronger capabilities in machinery, molds, and stamping products.
Additionally, Vietnam is actively developing green transportation policies centered on electric motorcycles, providing subsidies and continuing related battery R&D. The government encourages the public to switch to electric motorcycles. Although policy support for electric cars is less apparent, the overall direction toward electrification is clear. From a market perspective, Vietnam’s industrial development is still in its early stage. However, with major companies like Bossard and Würth already established locally, combined with Southeast Asia becoming a global investment hotspot in recent years, Vietnam’s development potential in the next decade is not to be underestimated.
The next edition of the show will again take place on August 05-07, 2026. For the latest event information, stay tuned to Fastener World’s official website.

Korea Metal Week
10/29-31/2025

The show covered a total area of 32,157 square meters. It was the largest metal and industrial materials event in South Korea for the second half of 2025. The exhibits covered a wide range of industries, including fasteners, automotive parts, wire production, die casting, 3D technology, and machinery automation. Visitors were mainly from Asia, especially Chinese companies, as well as representatives from Taiwan and South Korea. Most visitors represented enterprises related to aluminum and steel products. The organizer also set up a large "China Pavilion" turning into the focal point for onsite traffic. During the show, Fastener World gathered important market insights from Chinese companies, revealing that the U.S. import tariff policy on aluminum products had created operational pressures. Aluminum products are especially excluded from tax rebate benefits, increasing operational burdens for manufacturers and reflecting challenges faced by the global supply chain.
