The 2012 pre-tax annual profit of Nobel Biocare, a Big Swiss Company of Dental Implantology, was 69 million euros, a slide of 4%. Its 2012 pre-tax profit margin was 11.8%, a decrease from 12.7% in 2011. Its sales in 2012 reached 580.5 million euros, exhibiting a growth of 2%. Though 2012 was a good year to the company, it is quite optimistic and confident about 2013. The company indicates that demand for its core products, dental implants and related products, which comprise 84% of its revenue, will go up, indicative of a breakaway from the sliding demand pattern starting from 2007; therefore, its profit will exhibit a gradual increasing pattern in the next three to five years.
In 2012, in terms of regions and territories, its sales in North America and South America grew by 1.8%; its sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa comprised 40% of its revenue (with weaker sales performance in Spain and Italy); its sales in Japan, which used to be an important market in Asia to the company, exhibited a substantial decline by 14%.
