Topmaker (Taiwanese Branch) to Produce Automotive Parts in July 2015

by Tanya Shih, Fastener World Inc.

Leveraging China’s position as the world’s factory and its advantage of great domestic demand, China Anchor Group Co., Ltd has become the most successful Taiwanese-invested company among other Taiwanese competitors since it entered China in 1995. The entire group now includes Ningbo Anchor Fasteners Industrial Co., Ltd., Anchor Auto Parts Business Unit, Zhejiang Tool-King Hardware & Tools, Ningbo Hangyi Automotive Parts, and Taiwan Topmaker Fasteners , all which are specified in different product categories.

The company started as an expansion anchors maker. Now it is among the top 3 makers of expansion anchors (construction hardware) in the OEM market. The specialized products are not only anchors, but also socket, hand tools, fitting adapters, rivet nuts, and automotive parts, The company is even a draftsman of the national standards for “expansion anchor bolts and hand-driven sleeves & socket wrenches.” It is a leading maker of automotive parts, R&D and production base of hardware, professional maker of general parts for machinery, and one of the top 10 automotive maintenance & repair tool brands, approved by Chinese authorities.

Staff and Cooperative Partners Lead to Success in Automotive Parts Field

China Anchor Group supplies automotive fasteners (e.g. chassis parts and rivet nuts) to the global market and develops shock absorbing device, sleeves, high pressure tube fittings, engine parts, spark plugs, and other special parts. It has been only 12 years since the company started its auto parts business in 2003, and it demonstrates 20-30% sales growth every year. As a newcomer in this field, it has already gained multiple orders from world-renowned automotive part suppliers such as Bosch, Benteler, Federal Mogul, and DTR Corporation. It also supplies to Tier 1 suppliers of world famous car manufacturers.

“Responding to clients’ demand is the main reason that the group can maintain fast growth. Since we established a unit for producing auto parts, we have been through difficult times in building technical regulations, quality systems, service principles, and patent acquisitions. Now we completely follow TS 16949 requirements in production, have 19 patents, quality control from production and delivery, and can offer the most competitive prices thanks to dedication to R&D and breakthroughs in production,” says Owen Chang, special GM assistant of China Anchor Group.

Taiwan Topmaker Fasteners to Launch Auto Parts Production and Expect 25-50% Sales Growth

Topmaker, founded in 2004, is located in Benjhou Industrial Park (Kaohsiung, Taiwan). With a 18,843 sq. m factory area, it specializes in production and sales of rivet nuts and a variety of hardware. It is ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and TS 16949 certified, and can provide PPAP LEVEL Ⅲ reports for automotive parts. It is specialized in cold-forged products made in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, and can develop products in certain new materials as per request. Nearly 100% of its products are sold overseas. It once marked the production of 200 million pieces in 2014.

In July 2015 it will launch the production of automotive parts, and automotive parts buyers will have a new option for theses products. Sales Director Carrie Liu says, “The investment in the new automotive parts production line was made based on some factors: our mature forming techniques, complete manufacturing process, users’ confidence in the quality of China Steel Corp’s wires, and the positive influence of suppliers in the industry cluster.”

In the past, automotive parts were mainly supplied by plants in China, of which 80% were sold to China-based assembly plants invested by foreign companies, while the remaining 20% were supplied to other purchasers around the world. Now, Topmaker is building an automotive part production line for satisfying the upcoming great demand of the global market and it is expected that automotive products will be a cash cow for Topmaker.
