On Oct. 26, Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers Association (THTMA) held a seminar on “The Era of Lean Digital Transformation with a Case Study on a Japanese Company”. The event held by THTMA was supported by Leannovation Academy and was hosted by Hitachi Hi-Tech Corporation Taiwan and POME Technology. During the event, the hosts presented the process of Hitachi to carry out lean digital transformation, the software/hardware solutions successfully used to facilitate the process, and the analysis of development models of customer-centric digital transformation, in anticipation of guiding the Association’s members to achieve faster “lean improvement” with instant and accurate data and develop “lean corporate organizations”.

According to THTMA Chairman Xin-De HUANG, Taiwan has powerful hand tool manufacturing clusters, which export more than 90% of their products to the world. Last year, their total production value of hand tools reached NT$ 122.5 billion. Although the world has been heavily impacted by the Covid pandemic this year, the total export value of Taiwanese hand tool industry in the first 9 months of 2021 was still up 29.68% from last year’s same period, significantly revealing the strengths of Taiwanese hand tool industry. In the future, Taiwanese hand tools manufacturers will continue to strengthen their investment in digital transformation in order to maintain their quality, innovation, and value. In addition, they’ll dedicate themselves to reinforcing their industrial competitive edge and market expansion on the global hand tools market.
