Taiwan's fastener export value grew 33.2% in the first 10 months of 2021. The export to the U.S. and Europe rose evidently, up 34.2% and 34.1% respectively in the same period.

Taiwan is the 3rd largest fastener exporter in the world, second to China and Germany. Taiwan's fastener export value reached the peak of USD 4.64 billion in 2018, but took a blow from the U.S./China trade conflict and COVID and plummeted. In 2021, the export value grows thanks to the global economic recovery and steel price rise.

Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs said Taiwan has advanced fastener manufacturing technology and high quality fastener products, and that Taiwan is continuing investment in smart automated manufacturing, as well as the development of high value-add fasteners for the automotive, aerospace, railway, dental and medical industries. With the recovery in the U.S. and Europe, as well as the increasing demand for infrastructure and automobiles, Taiwan's fastener export is expected to continue growth.
