Great Earthquake Hits Eastern Taiwan, Fastener Manufacturing is Not Affected

A major 5.9 magnitude (Richter scale) earthquake along with dozens of aftershocks hit eastern Taiwan on September 18. Several railway constructions, bridges, and buildings in the region of Hualien and Taitung were damaged. Cities hundreds of kilometers away from eastern Taiwan also felt the quakes.

Southern Taiwan is the main clustering area of fastener manufacturing factories, however, as the epicenter of the earthquake this time was not in southern Taiwan, major cities like Tainan and Kaohsiung are barely affected. The operation and shipment of fastener factories remain normal as usual and are not delayed or halted by the earthquake.
