AUTOMECHANIKA HO CHI MINH CITY

Vietnam’s lead in electrification across ASEAN brings new business for automotive OEM to aftermarket at Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City 2026
Ho Chi Minh City, March 2026. Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City 2026 will highlight the rapid evolution of the automotive and mobility industry in both Vietnam and the broader ASEAN region. As the fastest expanding electric vehicle market in ASEAN, Vietnam is increasing its capabilities across the automotive and mobility industry chain, from OEMs to the aftermarket. To keep pace with the industry’s developments and changing needs, stakeholders are embracing new solutions and enhancements throughout the automotive ecosystem. From 18 to 20 June 2026, a range of activities across halls A1, A2 and B1 of the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center will cater to this demand, offering a comprehensive platform for business, innovation exchange, knowledge sharing, and cultural engagement.
Vietnam’s automotive sphere is rapidly shifting towards electrification, driving transformations and upgrades across the supply chain. For example, innovations in products, services, and solutions, such as new energy vehicles (NEV), battery systems and maintenance, as well as charging solutions and infrastructure, have opened new business opportunities. These advancements drive potential market growth for both ICE and NEVs.
On top of this, the country’s total vehicle sales increased by 18 percent year-on-year in 2025, surpassing most regional markets. At the same time, sales of NEVs surged by 84 percent, now accounting for a third of all vehicles sold, one of the highest proportions in ASEAN1. Meanwhile, the overall value of parts and accessories imported to Vietnam reached USD 2.89 billion, indicating significant growth potential. This reliance on imports for localised production, where only about 20 percent of components are manufactured domestically2, presents valuable prospects for increased investment and development of regional capabilities.
Ms Fiona Chiew, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “Over the years, Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City has served as a vital bridge for business collaboration and communication between international and local industry players. This success is fuelled by the strong global network that has been cultivated through Automechanika’s international events, attracting more than 23,000 exhibitors and over 690,000 visitors from across the world. I look forward to the 2026 edition continuing to impact innovation and industry advancement.”
